Just found this channel a few weeks ago as a 60s-70s fashion revivalist and I am stunned by the research, production value, and creativity in these videos! Fantastic!
Despite Mary Quant's diminutive size, she was a towering figure in the early sixties fashion industry. She could see and conceive of things that other people could never imagine. I read about her extensively earlier last year for a writing project I was working on. Her influence went well beyond just fashion. Her ideas travelled into music, film, art and commerce. She had so many interesting things to say about how fashion is so important to society and she helped to move the women's rights movement of the sixties. Her designs were fun and timeless. She was a truly amazing person and I wish I could have met and interviewed her.
@@joejones9520no, didn’t you read the comment? She was over 8 feet tall. She was the only person EVER to understand fashion and society. She was bffs with da Vinci
I always enjoy your videos, but this one was special. The writing was spectacular and your love and enthusiasm of Mary Quant shines through as one of the most charming aspects of this historical documentation. You definitely hit a home run with this one thanks.
Yay! Mary Quant was a great one! I remember seeing her line in jcpenney! As a girl! She was great!🎉l still work for jcpenney! I am still one of the best dressed in the store too! All my managers tell me everyday! I wish l could put it in a bottle and sell it! Lol😅
Great episode on a great talent. Hope you manage to get your hands on an original piece one day🌟🙋♂️. Big hits , high tide, and green grass on the turntable🌼
I had a dual.set of her AM and PM perfume as a young teen and a set of Quant make up crayons . She must have been one of the first designers to diversify into perfume and cosmetics at a price point that young people could afford
@judis6224 oh no, she was born in 1930. it’s in her biography and also in every other source online. She passed away in 2023 at age 93 making her born in 1930

I had no idea she named the mini skirt after the mini cooper! I own one myself, and I'm going to feel extra happy driving it around now hehehe
